I did a private photo tour with Scott and it was fantastic. He first took the time to explain to me how it worked, made sure I had what I needed (and they had provided me with that guidance in advance so I came prepared) and was patient with all of my questions especially about potential safety concerns. He is a brilliant photographer and was happy to share suggestions as we walked, as my interest was both to experience the swamp close up and to take photos. I thoroughly enjoyed it, never felt anxious or unsafe and gained a much greater appreciation for the photos hanging in the Clyde Butcher gallery, a number of which are Scott's. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting to learn more about the swamp, looking to see it from a new perspective and interested in photography.

Took a swamp walk with my sister and Dad, guided by Trish. This was a bucket list item for me. It was A-MAZING! Trish was extra careful with our Dad (turning 80 in a few weeks) and he did great! Yes, you will be in the water the entire time (from your ankles to your belly button) so definitely wear close toed shoes and lightweight pants. There is a secure changing area, bring a full change of clothes and shoes (undergarments too 😉). Trish was so knowledgeable, friendly and fun! We learned a lot! We did not see any snakes, but a couple spiders, nothing too scary. We recommend this adventure! Our take away about this precious environment, in the words of our guide Trish: "Everybody Needs Everybody" ❤

We thoroughly enjoyed this guided swamp tour! Matt, our guide, was friendly, fun and knowledgeable. He pointed out underwater branch and root obstacles, gave great information about the flora and fauna and took lots of photos that were air dropped free of charge at the end of our 2 hour tour. Walking through a swamp in this way is a unique, peaceful and beautiful experience.

One of the best things to do in South Florida. If you want to experience the "real" Florida, this is a must. We plan to visit again!

If you only do one thing when you visit the Everglades, make sure it is the Swamp Walk at Clyde Butcher's Big Cypress Gallery.  The gallery and Swamp Walk are located about 25 miles east of Everglade City.  Catherine and Barbara do a great job showing you Clyde's beautiful, sometimes haunting, black and white photography in the gallery.  The images are truly breathtaking.  But, the best part of the visit are Matt's guided Swamp Walks.  You wade through perfectly clear, gently flowing, water to experience the beauty of the Big Cypress swamp.  Matt's tours are both fun and very educational.  The Swamp Walks are truly a "don't miss" activity.  Call to make your reservations early because the tours fill up quickly!

We will be going back! We had a great time with our guide Matt. Matt was very knowledgeable and showed us so many amazing things. The water is clean & clear. It wasn't what I thought every swamp would be like which is a good thing. We learned a lot.

Had a great time with our guide Matt as he walked us through a known loop in the swamp. I learned a lot and had a great time. The water was clear and everything was beautiful. Lots of orchids and life from the bottom through the top of the dome. I even got to see "Big Momma" - a gator who has lived there for years. I'd love to spend more time there and hopefully catch some more wildlife. I heard the skunkape was last seen not more than 2 months ago around those parts.

You can ride through a swamp on an airboat, you can paddle through a swamp in a kayak, you can view a swamp from a boardwalk but to experience a swamp you have to walk in it! I spent the morning doing just that and was amazed by what I saw and felt. Trish, my wonderful guide, led me through crystal clear fresh water (often waist deep) in the Big Cypress National Preserve. Walking in the swamp allows up close views of the limestone bottom, the cypress trees with their roots just beneath the water, and many examples of the more than 150 species of exotic plant species found in the Preserve.
